UK riots: Child, 11, arrested over Middlesbrough disorder, police say
Cleveland Police said they have now arrested a total of 110 people in relation to unrest in Hartlepool and Middlesbrough earlier this month.
An 11-year-old child has been arrested over disorder in Middlesbrough during the UK riots, police have said.
Cleveland Police said officers had detained a further 14 people in connection with the unrest on Sunday 4 August.
"Teams of officers headed out this morning to target those believed to be involved in the disorder," the force said.
"The ages of those arrested were between 11 years old and 43 years old."
The 11-year-old is thought to be the youngest person arrested over the nationwide disorder that followed the Southport stabbings.
Cleveland Police said they had now arrested 110 people following unrest in Hartlepool and Middlesbrough earlier this month.
After this morning's arrests, Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Robinson, in charge of the operation to catch the Middlesbrough disorder suspects, said: "The message is 'You haven't got away with it'."
"We can identify you and we will arrest you, you will be arrested and you will be put before the courts," she said.
